Scotstown GAA Club Notes. 24/03/2020
We are here to help
We would like to reiterate our message that we are here to help. In light of the
ongoing concerns and impacts to our daily lives over Covid-19, Scotstown GAA
would like to reassure those in our community that we are here to help. The health
and wellbeing of our community is very important at this time and we can phone and
have a chat with those that are alone or vulnerable check if they need anything,
groceries, medicines, a friendly voice and reassuring chat can help.
If you are living away from the parish and have relatives that may need a hand
getting in medicines or shopping or simply checking in with them, contact Cormac on
087 6504979 or Bernie on 086 8161700 or any committee member. Please private
message on the Scotstown GAA Facebook page with any other suggestions on how
we can help over the next while. We will keep you updated on our Facebook page
and we are and will look out for each other.
Please follow the HSE and World Health Organisation guidelines which will be
frequently posted. We would also like to praise and thank the front-line staff in the
services during this time and all the goodwill that is happening in our community.
Stay safe.
Covid-19 Cancellations
In line with the GAA, and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association decision, we have
suspended all activity at club, inter-county and educational levels until at least March
29th. This is to include all games, training and team gatherings at all ages and all
grades. This also includes all our Scor activities, our Club shop and Social Club. We
will keep you updated here and through Social Media.
We are all on the same team, the (stay at) home team. Remember to wash your
hands, adhere to social distancing and follow all HSE guidelines. Thank you.
Monaghan GAA Easter Camps cancelled.
Monaghan Coaching & Games have cancelled the upcoming Monaghan GAA Easter
Camps for 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. All online bookings are in the
process of being refunded and payments may take a few days to be processed
depending on what bank you are with.
Online FIFA Competition
Many thanks to all those who organised and are participating in our online FIFA
competition for the players. We are currently having a Virtual Scotstown GAA
Competition! Life goes on behind closes doors, so to keep our competitive discipline
focused, we’re running an online FIFA tournament for Seniors vs Juveniles. This
started last weekend and the Juveniles had the narrowest of wins over the Seniors
8-7. Each player must use the same team for the duration of the tournament. Keep
an eye out on Facebook for live updates. We will have a live draw this Saturday with
a live game this Sunday.
St Patrick’s Day Competition
Many thanks to all those who participated in our St Patrick’s Art competition. We will
reveal the winner shortly!
